Hi guys,
Another mani revamp post for you today! Well to be truthful China Glaze Cleopatra was on my nails for less than 3 hours before I decided to add to it. I paired Cleopatra with For Audrey which is one of the most popular China Glaze polishes ever.

To completed the chevron strips I painted patches of for Audrey onto a plastic sandwich bag and let them dry for about 2 hours. I also painted some triangle gold studs with For Audrey to get the matching stud on the ring fingers and thumbs. Once everything was dry (enough) I lifted the patches of For Audrey off the plastic. I then broke out the zig zag craft scissors and cut chevron strips of For Audrey. To make the strips stick I painted a layer of clear on my nail and then positions the strips and studs with tweezers. I then covered the whole mani with top coat.

This is a very time consuming process and if you have a chevron stamp or nail vinyls I recommend using those. For Audrey is quite opaque is one coat and I think would do quite well as a stamping polish, but I can confirm that. I don't know if I'll be trying this technique out anytime soon, it took ages! Also, note: only use two chevron strips of the accent colour, the tips don't need to be done. Because I folded the excess underneath the nail it became very thick and made me want to peel it off.

I do quite like this mani, but the execution was lacking a bit. I had to touch up with For Audrey here and there and there are little bubbles underneath the chevron strips. I hate this. Also the mani isn't completely smooth (except for the accent nails). The chevrons made it a bit bumpy and I don't think this mani will last too much longer on me, I will pick at it.

All in all the the colours go well together the sparkliness of Cleopatra makes is fun to look at. I just wish for Audrey had gone on smoother. I may need to get some nail vinyls . . .
What do you guys think of chevron nails? Still cool or too outdated?
