Neutral Nail Art Featuring Moyou Stamping and Swarovski Crystals

Hi guys,
Today I have a nail art post for. I'm really into the neutral looks looks at the moment and love the combination of soft pastels or nude colours with delicate stamping and crystals, so pretty!

As I mentioned in previous posts I'm trialling gel nails at the moment, this is to prepare myself for when I start work in the mines, my nails will take an absolute beating! so I want to get the gel thing down before starting. I will do a review of the system I'm using once I've done a few manis with it.

Today's nails have Gelish's Need a Tan as the base colour. This is three coats with a gel top coat. Over the top of that I stamped with Moyou Sailor Plate 04 using one of the shell/scallop designs. I stamped with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, which I have thickened up to make a good stamping polish, it works really well now, even over bright colours!

On my non accent nails I've used some clear Swarovski crystals in the size SS09. These are so good! they reflect the light beautifully and are always shiny! The best part is that they're reusable so when I remove them back into the bag they go! I stick them on with a drop of Poshé quick dry top coat and Ithey stay on really well! I had to work a bit to get them off when I removed this mani, as I didn't want to damage the gel underneath. I added some SH Miracle Gel topcoat to all nails for the super shiny look, it's my glossiest topcoat and quite comparable to the actual shine of a gel polish. However, this polish smudges nail art, a lot, so I have to use a different clear coat on my stamped nails to protect them before adding the Miracle Gel.

For my thumb nails I had to stretch the stamped image as they're too small. This is my first successful attempt. To do it I picked up the image with my marshmallow/XL squishy stamper and then stretched the stamper head and picked up the design from this onto another stamper. It worked really well! But you have to move fast as the polish dries quick.

I'm looking forward to doing more neutral nail looks with this gel polish, and when I don't want a subtle colour I will just paint over it! My polish also seems to last really well over the gel, no chips!

What do you think of subtle and delicate manis? Are they your thing?
